About USSSA
Our Philosophy
USSSA believes that all amateur athletes should be given the opportunity
to compete in championship events in their chosen sport no matter
the level of their abilities, and that they should be allowed to
qualify for these events during the playing of the regular season
allowing them to make travel and lodging arrangements well in advance.
All championship events should be of the highest quality.
All decisions made by the association will be make with the best
interest of the players, coaches, fans and recreation administrators
in mind.
HISTORY
USSSA was established in 1968 when it was felt
the slow pitch softball program was being neglected by the domination
softball association of that time.
After establishing and using rules and procedures that were and
still are the benchmark for the other slow pitch associations it
was decided that if these Philosophies were so well accepted by the
slow pitch softball community they should be just as well accepted
by the other amateur sports.
The USSSA was reborn as a multi-sports association.
